At the tip of Africa, there is an amazing country offering some quality waves, even one of the best in the world. Known for so many things, but for us that are into the surf, Jeffreys Bay holds a special place in our hearts. Even if you are a beginner this place is amazing to visit and surf. Sit at the patio and have a look at the pros at the point, or paddle out yourself at the beach.

South Africa has tons of waves for all levels, this list will be updated as your community is growing and comes with tips for us.

Queerness

South Africa has been at the forefront when it comes to human rights for the queer community. And Cape Town is the place to be, with its huge cultural scene and endless numbers of bars and restaurants with great food the queer-friendly.

Cape Town

Close to the city you can find a lot of different beach breaks. But Muizenberg comes highly recommended, both as a surf spot and nightlife. If you are not keen to plan every detail yourself, you should check out Cape Town Gay Tours They will help you create an amazing experience that is not surf-related, but still fun.

Jeffreys Bay

You can find surf-able waves year-round here, but the bigger swell tends to come in during the winter, May to August. Are you a beginner or intermediate this place will be good all year and it will be calmer during the summer. Check out GoSurf to help you with accommodation and surf lessons and surf safari. They are offering weeklong surf camps with surf and safari. By using the local restaurants you are in for a treat and with great coaches, both in and out of the water they will help you take your surfing to the next level.
